Alan is a nationally recognized strategic executive and trusted advisor with more than two decades of leadership at the intersection of government, policy, and corporate strategy. With deep expertise in legislative affairs, stakeholder engagement, and public-private partnerships, Alan has successfully shaped policy, built bipartisan coalitions, and driven impactful initiatives that advance business and government objectives.
As a proven leader in both the public and private sectors, Alan most recently served as Senior Advisor for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Office of the Vice President, where he played a key role in shaping federal policy priorities and fostering collaboration across government and industry stakeholders. Previously, as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations at HUD, he led legislative strategy and federal-state engagement to align policy initiatives with national housing and development goals.
Alan’s extensive government experience includes four terms as a Florida State Representative, where he successfully led bipartisan efforts to pass landmark legislation on economic development, green jobs, ethics, and voting rights—including Florida’s Online Voter Registration Law. His leadership and consensus-building ability earned him national recognition, including being named National Legislator of the Year in 2014.
Beyond public service, Alan is a strategic advisor to Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and advocacy organizations, helping them navigate complex policy landscapes, cultivate high-impact partnerships, and drive meaningful change. His career has also included key leadership roles as a senior aide to the Mayor of Tallahassee, a communications analyst for the Florida Public Service Commission, and Governmental Affairs Director at The Meenan Group.
A third-generation graduate of Florida A&M University (FAMU), Alan holds both a B.S. and M.B.A. from the School of Business and Industry. He has been inducted into the FAMU School of Business and Industry Hall of Fame and is recognized among the university’s 125 most distinguished alumni.
